Free GED classes are offered to CBC attenders and the community. These classes are sponsored by Community Bible Church in conjunction with the Anderson One School District. To inquire about this program call 864.616.1203.
Those involved in this program include a certified teacher and several teacher assistants who help with teaching or testing responsibilities on a weekly basis. The work with this ministry is very rewarding, gives many relational opportunities in addition to teaching opportunities, and requires only a 2-3 hour commitment per week.
GED Trivia: Did you know that 60% of high school graduates cannot pass the GED? The GED is a hard test, and that is why classes to prepare for it are often essential to success.

Another semester of GED classes at CBC began January 7th. God has blessed this ministry by bringing as many as 27 students who registered to the GED tutoring program. Out of the 27 students, seven to 13 students were still attending at the end of the fall semester. This high number of students is a first for our program because we usually end up with only four to six by the end of the fourth week.
We currently have three students that have either taken the exam or have officially registered. In addition, two students took and passed the exam in the summer. John Tow
Alms and Legs Food Pantry
Praise the Lord that the Food Pantry is FULL! We are so blessed with a wonderful, giving church family. As the bulletin was being updated to announce the praise that the food pantry was full, a gentleman walked in to donate more food to our Alms & Legs Food Pantry. He had a whole back end of a car full of food to donate. It has been amazing to see the cabinets and even the tops of the cabinets piled high with food to help those in our church body as well as our community. We pray that the food that has been donated to the pantry will be a blessing to those who need it. Any food that is near expiration we donate to PERC (Piedmont Emergency Relief Center) because they can move the items quickly .We have been able to donate several boxes and bags of food to them.
