Hospitality at CBC
First impressions can go a long way in letting others know what type of church they are visiting on Sunday mornings. In a concerted effort to warmly welcome visitors to CBC, a ministry aptly named First Impressions has been developed to target this goal of hospitality by welcoming newcomers through the ministry of our ushers and by offering delicious treats at the coffee bar.
New for FI
The First Impressions ministry is currently working on several things to make both visitors and members feel more welcome each week. We now have an usher at the exterior door to welcome all who enter for each service and be available to provide directions or information. Ushers will also direct newcomers to the Visitors Information table in the lobby where they can find information about our church and our community.
Newcomer's Lunch
Starting in September, a Newcomers Lunch will be held one Sunday per month through May. We are looking to get CARE Groups involved in helping with this, so be on the lookout for more information to come in the near future.
Future FI
Several people have expressed some great ideas, and we are working to implement those that are a good fit for CBC. Ultimately, everyone has a role in welcoming others as part of First Impressions at CBC. I encourage each of you to take a proactive step towards sharing the love of Christ by meeting someone new each week. A simple greeting will make a positive difference in someone’s life that day.
Ushers
An essential part of our First Impressions ministry are our ushers who serve faithfully each Sunday morning. These men and women are some of the first people to meet and greet visitors and members as they enter the main building on Sunday mornings. The Usher Team and Greeters are always looking for smiling faces to join them! If anyone, male or female, mid-teenage & up, is interested in joining, or if you just want some more information about the ministry and/or the position's responsibilities, please contact Richard Loveday at either 220-6646 or

Coffee Bar and Baked Goodies
Also, currently several people tend to the coffee and refreshments in the lobby by brewing delicious blends of coffee and putting out warm, baked items. This ministry can always use volunteers to bring in baked treats the 1st, 3rd and 5th Sundays of the months. They could also use some help with clean-up after second service each Sunday. By the way, did you know that the coffee bar began at CBC several years back when our old friends (the Bonikowskis and the Roods) were readying to begin their ministry in Seattle? The coffee was graciously donated by West End Coffee, and the coffee brewers and airpots loaned to us at that time. CBC is proud to now serve those aromatic brews from our own brewing machines and airpots.
Ministry Opportunity
Looking for a simple way to serve? How about serving our Saviour and each other through the First Impressions ministry at CBC?
