Thank you for Sharing
October 2011
Dear Friend of ROGMA,
An answer to prayer.
It had become increasingly difficult for me to get from my wheelchair into our sedan without falling. The Lord answered our prayers for a van that would accommodate a wheelchair. Someone put us in contact with a local dealer who sells just that kind of vehicle. Recently we were able to purchase a converted van in which the front seat had been taken out and a hook placed on the floor to catch the wheelchair. I can go in using the ramp and maneuver the chair to where the front seat was. Once again I am much more independent with Marilyn as the designated driver.
In addition the neurologist ordered more therapy. Yesterday I learned how to transfer myself from the wheelchair to our bed and back by the use of a special transfer board. Now there is no need for Marilyn to do the heavy lifting. We thank God for providing the right equipment and people to teach us how to use it.
Mr. M in India is a faithful servant of the Lord. He has used the ROGMA lessons for many years. Hundreds have been saved through his ministry. Here is his report for the month of August. Saved: 57 people - 55 of them were adults; 9 of them have been baptized. This month 8 new cell churches were started where the ROGMA lessons are taught.
Provide a Christmas dinner!
It is October and some stores are already putting out the Christmas merchandise. Our director in India writes, “Would you like to see our fellow Christian workers, pastors and their wives and children taste the joy of Christmas? Give them a Christmas chicken. Cost of a chicken dinner is $40.00.” If you would like to underwrite such a dinner for a pastor or evangelist and family, send your check to John Vanden Akker’s account at Baptist Mid-Missions and write (Christmas dinner) on the memo line. What a blessing you’ll receive knowing for your $40.00 a family in India can have a Christmas dinner too.
Are churches ever started through the ROGMA lessons? Here is your answer. Fifteen years ago the ROGMA ministry started with one student in the Leyte Regional Prison. Now there is a Leyte Fundamental Baptist Church with its own building inside the prison compound in the Philippines. According to their latest report they will be baptizing 5 believers.
God is using the ROGMA lessons in a marvelous way because you gave. God bless you.
Yours by His grace,
John and Marilyn
