Highlighted Resource: Hearing the Word
This month we'd like to highlight one of our most popular resources: Hearing the Word. It is a tool to help anyone understand and apply what they read in their Bible. The hope is that this model will model will assist in 'basic biblical discovery' for layperson and professional alike.
Hearing the Word comes in the form of a small workbook, and uses a Teach-Try-Talk method: The group leader teaches using the Leader's Guide (Teach), followed by an 'exploration' exercise that each attendee does on their own (Try), finishing with a group discussion (Talk).
The first Hearing the Word workbook is an introduction using passages from Mark's Gospel. One of our trained presenters would be happy to come to your church to present the introduction, recommended to be done over a combination of Friday evening and Saturday morning. After the initial training, we also have workbooks and Leader's Guides on Psalms, Jonah, Philippians, Leviticus, and more - perfect for use with a small group led by someone who has been through the Introduction.
